Youngquist Brothers LLC is seeking Rig Electricians to work on our injection well drilling rigs in South Florida. Fulltime or rotational positions available.

This position is primarily for the East coast of Florida.

Youngquist Brothers LLC is a privately owned well drilling company focused on the construction of large diameter, Class 1 deep injection wells. We are proud to be a vertically integrated, self-sustaining company. Leaning on over 50 years of well drilling experience. We are the leader in large diameter deep injection well drilling. The introduction of the E-Rig has kept Youngquist Brothers LLC at the leading edge of injection well drilling technology.

We do it all from site prep, drilling, casing, cementing, wireline, to finished well.

We are NOT in the OIL business. We drill injection wells to dispose of wastewater.

Our business is extremely busy and growing. We are not affected by oil prices. We are busier than we have ever been.

Current jobs sites are in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Melbourne, Jupiter, Port St Lucie, Lake Wales, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres.

The Drilling Rig Electrician is responsible for installing and maintaining electrical wiring and equipment related to land-based drilling rigs.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and maintaining Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) equipment and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems
  • Maintaining an inventory of electrical spare equipment, housed at the rigs or in the shop
  • Testing circuit connections using electrical test equipment
  • Installing and repairing lighting systems when required
  • Repairing electrical equipment such as panel lighting, circuit breakers, junction boxes, voltage regulators and reverse current relays
  • Participating in ongoing training and company safety programs for new equipment and technologies as it becomes necessary including days off training
  • Coordinating with Electrical Foreman on the repair and refurbishment of equipment
  • Working very closely with rig crews to ensure proper training and to ensure that electronic safety systems are not bypassed
  • Ability to work on call day & night in response to mechanical breakdowns.
  • Various other duties as required. (Duties and responsibilities listed here are subject to change as needed on the job)

Requirements

  • MUST BE US CITIZEN OR LIVE IN US WITH CURRENT WORK PERMIT
  • At least 3 years of electrical experience with VFD rigs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical operation of drilling rigs.
  • Must hold valid driver's license.
  • Must have a clean background.
  • Must pass a drug test.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge and working experience with PLC Ladder Logic.
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes and standards pertaining to non-hazardous and hazardous areas
  • Basic comprehensive mechanical knowledge on hydraulics, diesel engines, motor pumps and top drives
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Excellent communication, mathematical and computer skills.
