This position is responsible for assembling and building all control panels, junction boxes and operator interfaces that were designed by the electrical design team. Wire up all enclosures to assembled equipment. Follow wiring standards: NEC, NFPA, UL508A. The Electrical Technician I will work with Designers / Engineers / Project Managers to ensure panels are built correctly and professionally. This position is a member of the Assembly Production Team and works hand in hand with other members to build custom engineered equipment for our customers with the highest of quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assemble control panels, motor panels, power distribution panels, junction boxes, and any other type of control enclosures that may be designed by the automation team.
  2. Mount and wire up control panels to assembled equipment (Bin Vents, Conveyors, Hoppers, etc.)
  3. Coordinate with assembly personnel to ensure proper production schedule.
  4. Face Panel and all other tagging and labeling.
  5. Give feedback to Designers to assist on ease of panel building, machine wiring, and accuracy of wiring methods.
  6. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.
  7. Follow bench testing procedures and document accordingly.
  8. Assist in testing of machines/systems as needed.
  9. Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain supplies at workstation.
  2. Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
  3. Assist with training of temporaries and new hires in Electrical Technicians I position.
  4. Must be able to read draft drawings (what is the name of this drawing?).
  5. Must be able to properly use and read a tape measure.
  6. Participate in company safety trainings and programs.
  7. Assist with production equipment maintenance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education / Experience: The successful candidate will have an Associate Degree or Journeyman License and/or a combination of 2-3 years' experience in one of the following fields:

  • Industrial Electrical Maintenance
  • Industrial Panel Wiring
  • Industrial Field Instrumentation
  • Industrial Panel Design

Knowledge: Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math skills as job duties require. Must have basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds maximum on your own, and able to lift 75-100 pounds with assistance. Must have good communication skills and be able to work well with others. Standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, and walking.

Working Conditions: Well illuminated, clean, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility. May be required to work outdoors as business needs dictate.

Safety: Safety shoes (steel or composite toe), safety glasses, hearing protection (when required), gloves (when required).

The Electrical Technician I must display a strong work ethic and attention to detail, as well as communication and time management skills, being able to prioritize multiple tasks. You will never be bored at Cyclonaire! Ability to read and follow wiring and panel assembly drawing s is required . Strong knowledge and familiarity with industrial control wiring , i ncluding PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and multiple field instrumentation devices.
