Hospital located in Central Texas has a full-time, permanent opportunity for a licensed Psychiatrist to join their team!The Psychiatrist Opportunity:- Full-time, permanent, DIRECT-HIRE position- Setting: hospital system located in Central Texas, this position most likely will be practicing at one of the affiliated free-standing clinics - Competitive salaries and rewarding benefits package- Employee Wellness programs for hospital employees- PTO and paid holidays- Excellent and easily accessible leadership team- Tight knit community = tight-knit facility- Refreshingly friendly and wonderful work environment with skilled healthcare professionals- General practice but Psychiatrists with Pediatric experience is a desirable experience/background as well Psychiatrist Responsibilities:- Review patients medical history and collect additional information from family members and psychologists as needed- Evaluate patients emotional, behavioral and mental state through discussion, observation and analysis- Identify mental disorders and determine best treatments- Develop therapy plans- Prescribe medications- Analyze medical tests and track patients progress- Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required- Advise patients on how to cope with mental diseases and emotional breakdowns- Support patients loved ones and inform them about the patients condition- Research medical issues and new medical treatments to update your knowledge on mental healthcarePsychiatrist Qualifications:- Must have a MD or DO degree from an accredited program/university with completed residency in Psychiatry- Must be a Texas state licensed Psychiatrist or eligible to obtain if out of state applicant- Must be certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, ABPN certification- In-depth knowledge of various psychotherapeutic methods- Must have at minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital/clinic capacity- Highly preferable to have previous experience or the desire to possibly obtain leadership responsibilities in the future- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to a non-medical audience- Strong observation skills to accurately evaluate patients demeanor and identify symptoms- Demonstrable excellent bed-side manner and the ability to remain calm, empathetic and patient while interacting with patients who suffer from severe mental disorders- Must be a team player and comfortable with working in a small town communityThe Surrounding Community:- Friendly small town located outside of larger, adjacent cities - Safe, family oriented community and where a sense of community and neighborly interactions are prioritized- Outdoor Recreational activities are found in abundance including hunting, hiking, camping, and more!- Local, award-winning winery with beautiful views to appreciate all over the Texas Hill Country- Rich community history with plenty of art galleries, historical landmarks right in town, and local museums to explore- Enjoy a simpler way of living away from the hustle and bustle of big cities
