MNL, a leader in ecological restoration, has an opening for a Shop Foreman. The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing the work and management of a team of mechanics at multiple locations. Strong focus on developing and implementing preventative maintenance measures to ensure proper and consistent functioning of company vehicles and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities:Manages the workflow of all company maintenance shops, ensuring that all components run smoothly and efficiently.Schedules and manages a team of shop mechanics, both in-person and remotely, which includes hiring, training, progressive discipline and evaluating performance. Develops, implements, and monitors a strong preventative maintenance plan for the company's vehicles and equipment. Maintains an online record keeping system used for vehicle and equipment maintenance.Works closely with field staff to ensure that all equipment needs are fulfilled on time.Orders parts, arranges order deliveries and pick-ups, and tracks inventory as needed. Assists with repairs as needed.Ensures that the maintenance shops are clean and organized.Performs other job duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Certified mechanic; or equivalent combination of training and experience.Knowledge of and experience in maintaining, building, and repairing agricultural and heavy construction equipment, with a particular knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, drivetrains, and engines.3+ years of experience as a mechanic.2+ years of supervisory or lead experience.Knowledge and ability to operate large equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, tractors, and skid loaders.Basic computer knowledge, including experience with databases. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 desirable.Must be mechanically inclined and technologically savvy.Able to work independently.Proactive self-starter, who is also flexible with the ability to adapt to changing work needs and priorities.Excellent time-management skills.Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.Must be detail oriented.Passion for the company's mission to "Heal the Earth". Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Able to handle tools required to perform general maintenance and repairs.Able to lift up to 50 lbs.Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed.Exposure to gasoline vapors and other mechanics fluids.Able to take phone calls during nonwork hours (e.g. evenings/weekends).Able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.MNL was founded in 1998 as an Ecological Restoration company that specializes in the preservation and restoration of native plant communities throughout Minnesota and the Midwest.
