Job DetailsJob LocationWashington Headquarters - Washington, DCThis position serves as a Videographer (Electronic Field/Live Production Camera operator) for the ENG Unit, Studio and Production Operations, with the responsibility for shooting single and multi-camera news, interviews, Features, and other events as required.• This position will primarily provide field support, but will also spend time in-house at positions supported by this unit.• Assists VOA reporters and producers with newsgathering operations and special projects.• Provides high definition (HD) video and audio that meets VOA house standards as determined by VOA Best Practices Guide, ITU 601/709 and commercial broadcast standards.• Often works independently of Control Room/Director using independent judgement for shoots to provide optimal coverage of event.• Ensures that proper equipment is brought to location to facilitate the execution of the requirements of the shoot as described in the ENG request.• When required, works in coordination with control room or Program Director at another location.• Responds and transitions in ever changing scenic elements such as lighting and shot requirements. Determines proper lighting to achieve optimal picture level/luminance for the prescribed shoot• Makes initial assessment and adjustments to framing, light levels, audio, and other production concerns in coordination with the program's Technical Director and/or the Quality Control Operator.• Serves as location producer coordinating event logistics and physical event set-up, including duties as a "live" production technician in set-up, shooting and transmission of content from remote locations.• Responsible for the safe carrying and positioning of all equipment while on location including the use of weights for any lighting equipment and securing cabling used at the location.• Field editing experience with Premiere preferred.• Experience using LiveU or similar technologies preferred.• Responsible for the care and maintenance of all government issued equipment used in the execution of the assignment such as cameras, lighting, and cabling and government vehicle.• Applicant may be required to operate a government motor vehicle as part of their official duties.
