Job Summary Amentum is actively seeking a Marine Gas Turbine Controls Junior Technician to work in Code 261 at SWRMC. The position is located at SWRMC in San Diego, CA. Essential Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting with the installation, modification, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of systems that include, but must not be limited to: New and existing marine gas turbine electrical control systems, electrical components, fixtures, electrical control equipment, and electrical systems that support propulsion plant and associated systems and components Provide electrical/mechanical technician support for urgent mission degrading CASREPs or other system and component problems affecting propulsion plant Provide technician support for assessments and inspections such as TMIs, TSRAs, INSURVs, and Assist Ship's Force with obtaining supply and repair parts information as required Provide Ship's Force training on gas turbine controls and components maintenance and troubleshooting to identify and correct equipment Provide out briefs to Ship's Force representatives including ship's officers and supporting personnel to include command management and executive leadership Assist with technical research and resolution recommendations for the DFS Provide electrical support for ESR to include work specification review, IDR and CFR resolution, and review of PCPs and other formal work Provide support on gas turbine electrical, mechanical and propulsion systems and subsystems outside the propulsion plant during periods of high workload. Minimum Requirements At least seven (7) years technical experience with gas turbine mechanical and/or electrical systems Must have extensive gas turbine controls maintenance experience Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs Position may require travel Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a secret security clearance Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) within 60 days of hiring U.S. citizenship Preferred Qualifications Ideal candidate has experience providing engineering services to the U.S. Navy or in shipyards such as former US NAVY GSE2 or GSE1 Experience with modern Navy Ship systems a plus (PLCs, electrical controllers, DDG-51, DDG-1000, LCS) Active clearance on hiring Prefer modern electrical experience with PLCsAt least seven (7) years technical experience with gas turbine mechanical and/or electrical systems Must have extensive gas turbine controls maintenance experience Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs Position may require travel Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a secret security clearance Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) within 60 days of hiring U.S. citizenship
